The AIS has partnered with Leaders Performance Institute to offer a series of virtual 90-minute learning events

Series Event 1 – Reviewing the Impact of the Elite Player Performance Plan at the Premier League

Program Dates:

Neil Saunders, Director of Football, Premier League

Neil has spent 10 years working for one of the most successful sports organisations in the world, the Premier League, where he is currently Director of Football. Prior to this evolution in role, Neil was Head of Youth Development and had responsiblity for the delivery of the Premier League's Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), a long-term plan with the aim of developing more and better home-grown players. Prior to joining the Premier League, Neil was a professional footballer, playing for Watford FC and Exeter City FC.

Series Event 2 – Performance Support at New Zealand Rugby Union

Guest:
Mike Anthony, Head of High Performance, New Zealand Rugby Union

Mike is the Head of High Performance for New Zealand Rugby Union with a wider remit across the NZ Rugby pathway, bringing 25 years experience working in rugby across a range of successful high performance sporting environments both within elite teams and leading high performance programmes. With NZ Rugby specifically, Mike has also held roles including High Performance Player Development Manager and High Performance Sports Science Manager. He has now been with the organisation for 14 years.

Series Event 3 – Wellbeing & Engagement Practice at the AFL

Program Dates:
Tuesday 28th February 2023 8.00am – 9.30am (AEDT)

Guests:
Kate Hall, Head of Mental Health & Wellbeing, AFL

Kate is a clinical psychologist and  senior academic in addiction and mental health at Deakin University. She leads the Mental Health and Wellbeing team at the AFL. She has worked with AFL and AFLW footballers for many years to address mental health conditions and optimise wellbeing. Her role at the AFL requires her to lead policy, research and cultural reform to create mentally healthy and capable systems that support the wellbeing of all AFL people and communities.

Series Event 4 – Evolutions in Coaching

Program Dates:
Tuesday 23rd May 2023 8.00am – 9.15am (AEST)

Guest:
Shelley Nitschke, Australia Women's Head Coach, Cricket Australia

Shelley is the Head Coach of the Cricket Australia Women’s team, who recently won the Women’s T20 World Cup for the sixth time, to compliment their seven One-Day titles. The team remain one of the world’s most successful. Shelley become the Head Coach of the side in September 2022, after initially taking on the Interim Head Coach role.
