Intensive Rehabilitation

Supporting high performance athletes successfully return to performance.


AIS Intensive Rehabilitation can, in consultation with the athlete’s NSO and DTE providers, create bespoke rehabilitation solutions for complex cases, such as:

  • Review and second opinion only
  • Early or targeted stage rehabilitation (long or short stay)
  • Return to performance programs
  • Complete ‘start to finish’ rehabilitation of complex injuries
  • Capability to do telehealth consultations across all disciplines

In addition to the on-site Intensive Rehabilitation team, there is also scope to utilise the services of external providers recognised as experts in relevant fields should the need be identified as part of the application and on-boarding process.

Key performance areas of AIS Intensive Rehabilitation

  • Dedicated service team working in collaboration to optimise the return of the athlete to performance, comprising of sports medicine, physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, psychology, nutrition, biomechanics, physiology, skill acquisition and recovery
  • Testing to optimise the decision making and monitoring of progress through the rehabilitation - biomechanical analysis, EMG, force plate, body composition, strength and power, physiological, psychological, athlete monitoring
  • Access to specialist expertise from across Australia’s high performance network to consult on cases
  • Ability to collaborate with NSO performance team through on site and online (telehealth, telepractice) options
