Plum strudel
- Preparation time 10 minutes
- Cooking time 20 minutes
- Serves 4
Ingredients
- 400g can pie apple
- 425g can plums, drained and pitted
- zest of 1 lemon
- ½ cup ground almonds
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 6 sheets filo pastry
- 1/3 cup skim milk
- icing sugar to dust
Method
- Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a baking tray with non-stick paper.
- Combine apple, plums, zest, almonds, cinnamon and sugar in bowl. Layer sheets of filo, brushing each layer with milk. Place fruit mixture along the long edge of pastry, leaving about 10 cm clear on each side. Fold pastry to enclose and brush with milk.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately.
