The Australian Institute of Sport’s (AIS) iconic interactive exhibit Sportex will close its doors from next week to undergo an exciting refurbishment.
The upgrades will make exploring the world of high performance sport even more thrilling for visitors to the AIS Campus with snowboarding, canoe slalom and track cycling among the new displays being installed.
To accommodate the installation of these new elements, Sportex will be closed from 23 June to 3 August 2025, with partial closures continuing through August and September.
The refreshed experience will be ready to welcome visitors from October 2025.
Tour groups already booked during the closure period have been contacted with information about how their visit may be affected.
Visitors can still book an AIS Tour and experience one of Canberra’s most popular tourist attractions.
