The relationship between Australia’s and France’s high performance sport bodies was further strengthened this week, following a visit by the French National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance (INSEP) to the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra.
The AIS last year renewed a Memorandum of Understanding with its French counterpart, with the MoU to allow Australian national teams access to the INSEP national training centre in Paris as part of their preparations for next year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
INSEP CEO Fabien Canu, Director of International Relations and Grand INSEP Network, Babek Amir-Tahmasseb, and Head of Performance, Bertrand Daille, spent two days in Canberra, collaborating with the AIS team on a range of topics, including coaching, athlete pathways, the National Sport Research Agenda, and Performance Support.
Executive General Manager of AIS Performance Matti Clements also updated the INSEP team on Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Strategy, and the system’s universal commitment to win well and create sustainable success to Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
