30 June 2020
With the recent easing of COVID-19 restrictions and a return to sport, some public activity has resumed at the AIS campus beginning Monday 6 July.
When has / might public activity resume at the AIS campus
We understand the value of the AIS campus to the community, particularly Canberra’s community, and we have every intention of resuming business as usual when we see it safe and appropriate.
While the campus has been closed, we have taken the opportunity to progress some improvement works across the campus.
So as restrictions continue to be eased, we may still require some limitations on public activities until these works are completed and in order to comply with ACT Public Health Directions.
We are also constantly monitoring the evolving situation across Australia, in particular the rates of community transmission in Victoria and NSW. We thank you for your ongoing understanding.
Accordingly, the AIS is considering a possible resumption of public activity on the AIS campus in accordance with the following target phases [updated 21-10-2020]

Any resumption of public activity will be in accordance with strict COVID Safe measures to ensure the health and safety of staff, athletes and all members of the public. We have also enhanced all cleaning and hygiene protocols across the campus.

When undertaking any sport and physical activity, you should:

- ensure you properly clean any equipment used (eg fitness equipment, balls etc) before and after use;
- if swimming, reduce contact with other swimmers, particularly if you are sharing lanes; and
